Revisiting the Civil War: Union Soldiers

Tintypes of the gravestones of Union soldiers (and a Confederate soldier, brother to a Union Colonel), who were killed fighting in the American Civil War. The work conceptually operates as a portrait of a person, probably photographed in the same process of tintype when they were alive. As a veteran I attempt to connect with my brothers in arms, indeed it was a humbling experience.
